Florence Wine + Food Festival Hosts South Carolina Chef Ambassador Michael Sibert 

The Florence Wine and Food Festival puts a delicious spotlight on this South Carolina gem of a town. The event, which features culinary experiences curated by renowned chefs, wine tastings, and educational seminars, not only tempts taste buds but also raises awareness for Florence’s unique food culture and its dedication to supporting local. Proceeds from the festival benefit Help4Kids, an organization that fights childhood hunger in the Pee Dee region. By showcasing the talents of local chefs alongside exceptional wines, the festival elevates Florence’s culinary scene and creates a buzz that attracts visitors eager to experience the town’s Southern hospitality firsthand.

The Festival is heavily influenced by celebrity chefs Matt and Ted Lee. The brothers, who grew up in South Carolina, are known for their cookbooks and appearances on the Cooking Channel. They play a major role in curating the festival’s events, including the signature “Meat and Meander” which features dishes from local restaurants. In 2023, the festival even introduced a brand new marquee event, the Grand Tasting, which they invited Chef Michael Sibert to be a part of in 2024.

2023 South Carolina Chef Ambassador Sibert shared the dish that was slated to be on the menu at the ill fated Charleston Wine + Food culinary village event, Waygu Beef Tallow Gnocci & Crispy Pork Jowl. Guests raved about the dish that he served with an assist from SC Chef Ambassador Marcus Shell of Uptown Hospitality in Charleston.

In addition to serving the dish to guests at the Grand Tasting event, Chef Sibert shared how he created the dish on stage in front of attendees.
