SEWE: Chef Michael Sibert’s First Chef Ambassador Appearance

The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) celebrates South Carolina’s rich wildlife and culture, and food is a big part of that.

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture partners with SEWE to showcase the state’s culinary talent through its Chef Ambassador program. These chefs, chosen annually, represent the best of South Carolina cuisine. During SEWE weekend, they participate in cooking demonstrations on the Fresh on the Menu stage alongside the Certified SC farmers that they have partnered with for the event.

Alongside other local talent, Chef Michael Sibert created a dish featuring Meishan pork and eggs from Barefoot Acres Farm, sweet potatoes from Crescent Farm, and milk from Hickory Hill Milk The sweet potato brûlée with candied Meishan bacon dish was a hit with festival attendees that had the opportunity to sample it.

The demonstrations at SEWE not only entertain SEWE attendees, but also educate them about the quality and diversity of South Carolina products.
